As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, it’s no wonder we want to surround ourselves with things that bring us joy, including pets and plants. But some plants aren’t suitable for our furry friends, and to help keep your pets safe this fall, Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) experts have compiled a list of the 10 most popular fall plants that are pet-friendly and which ones to avoid. You can check which plants to do.

Cat Safe Plants

1. Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum spp.) are the most popular flowers to see in autumn, but are considered poisonous to dogs, cats and horses. If ingested, symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, excessive salivation, indigestion and dermatitis may occur.

The red Red maple (Acer rubrum) trees are sometimes the most vigorous and beautiful trees seen in the fall season and are non-toxic to dogs and cats. However, the leaves of this tree are considered poisonous to horses. Especially when it dries up. If ingested, symptoms include anemia, weakness, dark urine, difficulty breathing, miscarriage, and death.

3. Ginkgo biloba produces beautiful yellow leaves in autumn. It is important to know that there are male and female ginkgo trees, but while the male tree is not considered toxic to pets, the seeds of the female tree contain ginkgo toxins that are toxic to pets. Ingestion can cause vomiting, irritation and seizures The easiest way to tell the gender is to look at the fruit. The fruit of the female tree has a very unpleasant smell. It gets worse when your pet decides to gobble up those nuts!
