When you take your dog to a resort, they usually have something special for your pet as well. This can be a huge advantage if you don’t want to search for pet-friendly restaurants, activities, etc. and just want to enjoy everything the resort has to offer.

This is also a great way to introduce you and your dog to the possibility of traveling with pets. Because you will be staying at a dog-friendly resort. It tells you exactly where you can and cannot take your dog.

One advantage of pet-friendly resorts is that they are often expensive. Whether you think it’s worth it or not is up to you, but in some cases the pet package is worth it in a place like Mackinac Island, where you’ll have to pay for a fairly expensive hotel.

Mission Point Resort is one of the few pet-friendly resorts on the island. They don’t just allow dogs. But we also welcome them with open arms. They have a dog named Nick the Border Collie who you can follow on Instagram. @nickatthepoint

The pet fee is currently $100 per stay. They also have a pet friendly package called Pooch at the Point which includes 2 nights, pet accommodation, breakfast and ferry ticket. and amenities welcome your dog.

Homestead offers a variety of lodging options close to the shores of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

What’s really nice about Homestead is that a pet fee is included when you book. Booking a room at a specific pet-friendly hotel can be a little tricky. Then I’ll call and make an appointment.

Crystal Mountain Resort is pet friendly but does not offer special pet packages. They clearly state that your dog is not allowed anywhere in the resort. it is very useful

Boyne Mountain Resort is another popular ski resort south of Petoskey, and instead of going to Kirby last fall, we enjoyed the heated pool and gondolas. We also played golf at the Alpine Course, which is a very beautiful course. They have another route, Monument, which is said to be more challenging.

Like the resort above, it also features a spa and a variety of winter and summer activities and amenities.

Pet-friendly areas are probably the least flexible. Some pet-friendly rooms can only be booked by telephone. The pet fee is $25 for the first night and $10 for each night. Up to $150

It may not be the most popular on this list, but Portage Point Resort has been around since 1903. Designed to create a resort after the timber industry dried up.

The resort consists of a small hotel and several cabins along Portage Lake, which also has access to Lake Michigan. Currently under reconstruction and improvement. But still open for bookings
