📍 We booked the ferry at 08:00, but note that you can JOIN THE CAR AT ANY TIME, not at the time you booked!!! which is VERY compatible. There are many nice stalls in the Marina ferry port where you can buy drinks, snacks, I even had lunch!!! (Only Nasi Lemak, but not so bad!)

🤍 The track between St. John’s and Lazarus Island is AWESOME. The water is clear blue and there is a lovely breeze.
Along the Causeway you will see many families having small picnics or seasoned anglers!!! We talked to one of them and he said that there are a lot of fish here and that we can see the fish he caught. The thing is these little fish were so big I can’t imagine them being big LOLOL. So for those who know how to fish, visit this place! ! ! 😆
📍 At the entrance to Grobla there is a bike shop where you can rent bikes and segways, great, but I’ve heard about it!!! If you have a bike, you can take it on the oso ferry to explore the St. John Islands and see the Marine Park Public Gallery. It’s just a nice place to vent and refill water/toilet, but there’s practically nothing to see in the tanks! ! ! There are tutorials throughout the Gallery, but it’s still pretty small so it’s really satisfying…

🤍 Kusu Island is really very small, so you only need 30 minutes to explore it UNTIL enjoying the beach!! The beach here is so beautiful…different from Lazarous in the sense that it’s much whiter compared to the blue waters of Lazarus/St Johns, but both are VERY clear which I like. 😍😍 Good for photos and for your pets to swim, clean and play at Kusu Beach, imo because the water level is SUPER LOW and safe because of the surrounding caves.
The iconic Kusu Turtle Pond also has a lot of turtles, so it’s worth seeing! ! I DEFINITELY NEED THIS 🤩🤩🤩 Also, there are a lot of people praying in several temples (you can buy incense sticks, etc.), but what I liked most was that they were praying there. IN GENERAL IF YOU HAVE TO CALL AND CALL AND FIND HAHAHA, YOU SHOULD TRY! ! And a great goal, because it’s not easy 🫣🫣🫣 There’s something about January that makes me sit down with my calendar and plan a bunch of trips for the next year. It’s so cold and dark outside that it’s very satisfying to turn on your laptop and sketch out your adventures.
Although we’ve put an end to our extensive international travel during the pandemic, we’ve enjoyed getting to know the Seattle area again and all of its amazing (and doggy!) weekend getaways. After living in New York and Chicago for ten years, it was great to come back and rediscover my favorite places, as well as see all the new resorts, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have popped up here. We had a blissful Easter weekend in Semiahmu 2019 and I look forward to returning to the beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loved. Just steps from the Canadian border, this pristine resort is the perfect base for exploring the great outdoors and stunning coastal scenery of Northern Washington.
