πŸ“ We booked the ferry at 08:00, but note that you can JOIN THE CAR AT ANY TIME, not at the time you booked!!! which is VERY compatible. There are many nice stalls in the Marina ferry port where you can buy drinks, snacks, I even had lunch!!! (Only Nasi Lemak, but not so bad!)

Best Dog-friendly Vacations: 25 Trips For You And Your Pup

πŸ‘πŸ» The ferry was very clean and the trip was smooth and fast! It took about 15 minutes but me and my boyfriend fell asleep so quickly because it was really relaxing… But stay awake and you can enjoy the beautiful sea view

🀍 The track between St. John’s and Lazarus Island is AWESOME. The water is clear blue and there is a lovely breeze.

Along the Causeway you will see many families having small picnics or seasoned anglers!!! We talked to one of them and he said that there are a lot of fish here and that we can see the fish he caught. The thing is these little fish were so big I can’t imagine them being big LOLOL. So for those who know how to fish, visit this place! ! ! πŸ˜†

πŸ“ At the entrance to Grobla there is a bike shop where you can rent bikes and segways, great, but I’ve heard about it!!! If you have a bike, you can take it on the oso ferry to explore the St. John Islands and see the Marine Park Public Gallery. It’s just a nice place to vent and refill water/toilet, but there’s practically nothing to see in the tanks! ! ! There are tutorials throughout the Gallery, but it’s still pretty small so it’s really satisfying…

Pet And Dog Friendly Vacations In New Hampshire

🀍 Kusu Island is really very small, so you only need 30 minutes to explore it UNTIL enjoying the beach!! The beach here is so beautiful…different from Lazarous in the sense that it’s much whiter compared to the blue waters of Lazarus/St Johns, but both are VERY clear which I like. 😍😍 Good for photos and for your pets to swim, clean and play at Kusu Beach, imo because the water level is SUPER LOW and safe because of the surrounding caves.

The iconic Kusu Turtle Pond also has a lot of turtles, so it’s worth seeing! ! I DEFINITELY NEED THIS 🀩🀩🀩 Also, there are a lot of people praying in several temples (you can buy incense sticks, etc.), but what I liked most was that they were praying there. IN GENERAL IF YOU HAVE TO CALL AND CALL AND FIND HAHAHA, YOU SHOULD TRY! ! And a great goal, because it’s not easy 🫣🫣🫣 There’s something about January that makes me sit down with my calendar and plan a bunch of trips for the next year. It’s so cold and dark outside that it’s very satisfying to turn on your laptop and sketch out your adventures.

Although we’ve put an end to our extensive international travel during the pandemic, we’ve enjoyed getting to know the Seattle area again and all of its amazing (and doggy!) weekend getaways. After living in New York and Chicago for ten years, it was great to come back and rediscover my favorite places, as well as see all the new resorts, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have popped up here. Most importantly, I loved how many of them offered dog-friendly stay options. I am very happy when we can take Dave and Lizzy on vacation.

I was looking forward to planning a trip to this lovely cottage and location near beautiful Friday Harbor which has several “dog friendly” cottages. How amazing does this photo look? Bring your best friend with you and experience the magic of wine at one of our favorite resorts in the area. We have been using weekend breaks at Sagecliff since 2015 and it really has never disappointed. Hiking, wine tasting and spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge make this a dream resort. Find detailed information about the puppy policy here.

Captain Whidbey is at the top of my bucket list for 2022. Thanks to recent coverage in publications like Vogue, this beautifully restored historic home is popping up on my Instagram and I can’t wait to tour it. . Click on the booking system to see which rooms (eg the Filson cabin!) are marked as pet friendly.

Walla Walla is one of the best wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I really can’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I have been booking this modern hotel in the city center for some time now as it seems like the perfect base for a weekend in the snow or a weekend with wine. Or both! A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available upon request. Information can be found here.

Life’s A Beach At The Best Dog-friendly Getaway

We’ve previously written about our love of Getaway Tiny Houses, and we’re eyeing a new location in the Skagit Valley. They are the perfect way to escape nature while staying warm and dry. How amazing is this iconic bed window? Dogs are allowed for a fee – details here.

Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with this waterfront fireplace. Although this Oregon Coast cottage is a bit far from Seattle, its sleek, modern interior and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean make it worth the drive. Select rooms accept dogs under 25 pounds – details here.

My New Year’s resolution is to visit the Fantasy Lodge in St. Louis. This historic seminary has been renovated and occupies a beautiful location on 326 acres of land directly on Lake Washington. Plus, after a day of sightseeing, relax with a visit to the spa or sample Pacific Northwest cuisine at Cedar + Elm Restaurant. Details about the dog here.

We had an amazing weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – and blogged about it – and the memories got me through the first few months of isolation. These modern 570-square-foot apartments offer amenities such as private patios, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. Plus, they’re the perfect base for exploring Vashon Island’s beautiful beaches and hiking. Nine out of sixteen cottages are dog friendly. Just select “pet fee” on the booking portal – details here.

Bay Area Day Trips: The Best Dog Friendly Weekend Trips By A Local

I’ve been dreaming of getting one of those Insta-famous A-frames for a long time and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tie River Cabin Co. offers three separate A-frame cabins located in the heart of the Baker-Snoqualmie Mountain National Forest, and all three pets welcome for a fee. However, a word to the wise, getting a booking can be difficult as each of their amazing Insta posts gets thousands of likes. Information about pets can be found under each cabin’s details.

We had a blissful Easter weekend in Semiahmu 2019 and I look forward to returning to the beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loved. Just steps from the Canadian border, this pristine resort is the perfect base for exploring the great outdoors and stunning coastal scenery of Northern Washington. They are extremely dog friendly, and pups are welcomed with bowls, their own bed and (at least during our visit) some souvenirs. Details about the dog here.

Step back in time when you stay in one of these vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in Willamette Wine Country. The trailers feature pour-over coffee, luxury linens, and elegant bathrooms. Dogs are allowed in the Shasta trailer. More details can be found here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite trips outside of the city. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to visit this downtown seaside town filled with quaint shops, cozy cafes, and waterfront views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington!) We also love the very popular downtown inn, The Majestic, for its cozy guest rooms and rooftop bar. Their detailed policy is here.
