Dog Friendly Cabin York – When I think of a relaxing holiday I don’t think of golf, but it was part of our recent trip to Kilnwick Percy Resort.
Located in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Kilnwick Percy Resort is home to not only an award-winning golf course, but also several luxury hotels.

As we checked into our hotel for the third night of our weekend getaway, we were all really looking forward to a weekend of relaxation. Let me tell you, we booked a dog-friendly hotel on this long trip so Snoopy could come with us!

They have different rooms where you can stay. We stayed in one of the Millington Deluxe Lodges and it really felt like a home away from home.
The beautiful drawing of the living room and dining room was warm and spacious with a large L-shaped sofa, perfect for relaxing while enjoying your cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
The flat screen TV had a DVD player, or we streamed Netflix to watch a good movie.
Floor to ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light and if you want privacy you can just roll up the shutters.

The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a tasty breakfast or dinner – a large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove, kitchen utensils, goats and plenty of glasses, even a washing machine. We received a standard kitchen package containing a tea towel, scrubber, water dispenser and a bottle. There was also tea and coffee waiting next to the pot.
The master bedroom had an amazing bed, a dream come true! There was plenty of storage space, a walk-in wardrobe with a sofa and a private bathroom with a large rain shower. Standard bathrooms were also provided.
The best part of the room is the floor to ceiling windows which gave us fantastic views over the golf course and forest, a beautiful view to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning before bed
Outside on the deck there was garden furniture and a nice hot tub, great for warming up and relaxing after a walk in the woods.

Mister was happy. B on an 18-hole, par-70 golf course, covering more than 120 hectares. I don’t know anything about golf, but he said it was a really nice course!
There is also a gym and spa on site, but the most intense thing I did this weekend was a mirror walk on the nature trail, which is perfect for hiking. Walking shoes are definitely recommended as it was quite steep.
On our first night we ordered lunch to enjoy in our cabin. Sunday evening we had eaten a lot of delicious cheese together, so on Saturday we decided it would be fun to go out for dinner and go to the rooftop restaurant The Glasshouse.
We reserved a table in the dog friendly bar. There’s certainly something for everyone on the menu, from toasted ciabattas to steak and kidney pudding to southern fried chicken.

I opted for the meatball pizza which was packed with toppings and sweet potato fries, while Mr. B went for the “fried Cumberland sauce with colcannon puree, sautéed vegetables and caramelized onion.” They even asked if Snoopy wanted a sausage, of course he agreed and ate the whole thing! I was also very impressed with the wine list. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of Malbec.
For dessert we both couldn’t resist the sticky toffee pudding, it was lip smacking! They serve Costa coffee so we both enjoyed the latte.
We had a wonderful stay in our cozy cottage in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. For a wedding, family holiday or a chance to get away with friends, I highly recommend staying in a house in Kilnwick Percy.
