Start your trip right outside our door with a walk with your dog along the Riverwalk to Bingham Park. You can also enjoy a 2.1 mile hike along Lake Wallenpaupack. We are happy to show you the right way and you will be on your way! Don’t forget to take a stick from the balcony and have lunch.

Another great area near Lake Wallenpaupack is the Shuman Point Natural Area. You can go with a leashed dog in this 3 mile hike. All skill levels are welcome and the trail offers great views of the lake and forest to visitors. About 2 kilometers away you will find a stone wall used as a fence to separate the farmers’ fields.
Just a short drive from the hotel is Promised Land State Park. Located in Greentown, Pennsylvania, the park offers hikers more than 50 miles of trails. Dogs on leashes can accompany their owners along the park’s Little Falls Trail. The 1.4 mile trail follows Wallenpaupack Creek and passes a small waterfall that bears the trail’s name.
Lehigh Valley State Park Trail is perfect for dogs with wide trails and river views. The entire trail is 26 miles long, but a shorter trail can be started in Rockport. The hike is worth it because the path is a little steep. Be sure to find your way to the abandoned train tunnel, which offers views of the river. This is a great adventure for your kids.
Ledgedale Recreation Area in Greentown, PA offers visitors a 35-acre park and 80-acre natural area. You and your dog will enjoy the nature area’s hiking trails, which follow old logging roads used in the 1920s.

Canoeing down the river with Kittatinny Canoes. Instructors welcome well-behaved dogs on river cruises. Pets must be on a leash and comfortable in the bus or van to and from the launch site. A life jacket must also be worn on the river in a canoe, kayak or saloon. Kittatinny also requires that dogs’ nails be trimmed before rafting.
Unleash the fun at Hawley Riverside Dog Park. A short 10 minute walk to the enclosed dog park on the banks of the Lackawaxen River. The grass area offers a small, separate dog area for puppies under 20 pounds. Let your dog enjoy the open space for walking as well as various trails and exercise for mental and physical exercise. There are many benches around the park where pet parents can relax and watch.
