Is there an additional charge? Are there weight or breed restrictions? You may worry about sacrificing your comfort to travel with your dog. Is it your only chance to fight in dirty roadside hotels and campsites? Or are there places to stay, not just for dogs, but for both dogs and their owners?

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes no family vacation is complete without four-legged members. Their pet policy allows dogs of all sizes at home shelters for a fee of $20 per pet. You can choose any cabin to book online and add a pet fee at checkout.

The resort’s 700 acres have everything you need for a wonderful vacation. From land to lake, choose from a variety of fun activities for the whole family. The pool and guest beach are pet-free, but dogs have their own dedicated swimming area, Fannies Beach. Roscoe and I even rented a sailboat to go out on the lake! You can also dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining area, but they can dine outside at The Red Factory if you want to enjoy Fido.

Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a charming boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. The pet policy allows for an additional $50 per dog per day for dogs under 70 pounds, as do most breeds. The dog-friendly three-bedroom suite has spacious living areas and an outside entrance. You can save these kits online, just add a tag with your dog’s size, height and name. Dogs cannot be left alone in the guest room. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are only allowed in the hotel lobby and public areas.
The hotel is distinguished by its attractive and elegant decoration. The lobby lounge, comfortably decorated with retro wood stoves and cozy woolen blankets, invites you to relax with a book or play a board game. You can enjoy breakfast in the lobby cafe or after drinks and snacks in the vintage-themed bar. The outdoor jacuzzi, which is a bit more sophisticated, needs to be booked in advance. But the advantage is that it is guaranteed to you. The location is impossible to locate. We were able to get to the center and the shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel. This is the perfect home base for you and your pup’s Vermont adventure.
East Coast Vacations And More In The Northeast Region
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a special place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Depending on the pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms for an additional $50 per night: Pecham, Danville, N.Y. Danville, Maidstone and the Lost Nation. You can choose the “Pet Friendly” option to post your room online. The hotel is so pet-friendly that a friendly gold digger works at the front desk and there’s even an animal sanctuary. Make sure your dog reacts to other animals!
We stayed in the homely but comfortable Peacham Deluxe room. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the wood burning stove. We were greeted in the morning with bread and hot coffee from the oven in the main hotel building. Thinking we couldn’t eat any more, the hotel clerk brought out the famous farm fresh blueberry pancakes. We couldn’t resist.
Nestled in the hills of the Northeastern Undeveloped Kingdom on 400 acres, this historic farm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. Be sure to wake up early to see the pastel pink and purple sunrise. Over the hills and morning mists descend into the valley.
The Kimpton Taconic in Manchester has one of the most liberal hotel pet policies I’ve come across. Everyone is welcome, as long as they fit the elevator! There are no restrictions on size, weight, breed or number of pets, and there are no additional deposits or fees. Filter by pets when booking online and fill out pets at check-in.
Top Dog-friendly Beaches In Cornwall
The Kimpton Taconic is the perfect place to pet your dog. Rooms include food bowls, toys, treats and a plush Orvis dog bed. (The Orvis flagship store down the street is a must-see with your dog.) Dogs are welcome in the hotel’s Miss Grouse restaurant lobby and front porch dining. In colder seasons, there are external heaters to keep you and your pup warm. You can also contact the front desk to request pet services, including pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services.
Made Inn Vermont in downtown Burlington is your home and pet away from home. Pet Policy There is a $25 per pet fee for well-behaved friends at this charming urban boutique bed and breakfast. You can book directly online, add your dog to the number of guests and provide details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for large dogs. It was very convenient even with Roscoe, the bathrooms are down the hall (at least it’s private though). The hotel’s rambunctious character may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location a short walk from the city centre. The host is very friendly and will provide quick recommendations for pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs, it makes them a priority. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxury king cabins and select guest houses with bubble wrap, dog beds and Vermont-made bedding. You can pay $50 for an extra dog per night. Maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered at time of booking.

With simple but clean rooms, Stowe is one of the most comfortable hotels. Breakfast is highly sought after, so go elsewhere for breakfast. But grab a drink at the Fritz Bar and sit back and relax with your doll.
