Crystal Brook Tourist Park is the only caravan park in the Melbourne suburbs with pet-friendly cabins. The park is located in Doncaster East, on the north-eastern edge of Melbourne, on the edge of the city.

Miner Cabin At Lakes Bushland (sold)

Pets are allowed in select cabins and areas of the park. Choose from the Deluxe Family Villa or Superior Hillside Villa, both of which sleep up to six people, or the Standard Cabin, which sleeps four.

All cabins are independent and have their own bathroom. There is an additional fee of USD 25 per stay for pets. There is also a dog training area on the edge of the park with a speed track.

90 minutes drive from Melbourne city center to Daylesford and Daylesford Holiday Park where pets are allowed all year round. Pets are allowed in the RV and camping areas and in their new pet-friendly cabin.

One of the most dog-friendly places to stay in Victoria is Best Friend Retreat. Located in southern Victoria’s Tara Valley, it’s surrounded by rainforest but just 2.5 hours south-east of Melbourne, perfect for a relaxing long weekend.

The park’s seven cabins are dog-friendly and securely fenced. They vary in style from budget to luxury options, usually accommodating five or six guests. Each room has its own bathroom and full kitchen. Of course, dogs are expected to sleep inside!

The park also has six fenced areas for dogs, meaning your dog always has somewhere to run. One area has agility equipment and another has a giant ball for dogs. Additionally, there is a water bath where you can refresh yourself at the end of busy and muddy days.

Further east, Gippsland has another pet-friendly caravan park, Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park. The park is located at the entrance to the lakes, just a short walk from the beach. The park recently became Victoria’s first child-free caravan park – targeting travelers with pets instead.

At Prime, all of their cabins, cottages and vans are 100% dog-friendly. In fact, they are only available to pet owners! In the opinion of dog owners with allergies, a salon is limited to only hypoallergenic dogs.
