In fact, all the information about the requirements for traveling abroad with a pet is collected here. This way, you can know if a country has a quarantine or if another country only requires pet health documents. The website is only available in English. Click on the country details section and then select your destination. You will find information in the “pets” section. If you understand French, I recommend the Anivetvoyage website. Created by a French veterinarian, it breaks down the formalities of moving pets for each country. You’ll also find helpful pet health tips and other important information for planning a trip with your dog or cat, especially for travel to or from the European Union.
Vacay Features, Pricing, And Alternatives
Traveling with a dog requires additional costs. My advice to offset this cost? Save money by comparing prices on flights and car rentals online. That’s why I’ve been using Liligo for over a year. Liligo is a free online service created in France. It is available in many languages. I find the best price every time, like on my last trip to Crete. I was able to purchase an SUV at a very competitive price in just a few clicks. In addition, Liligo publishes the very interesting The Traveler’s Magazine (available in English).
This is one of my favorite sites! Walkli shares ideas on how to explore many destinations around the world on foot. It’s no secret that dogs love to run wild. Ever since Akula came into my life, I love walking with her to discover new places. In fact, in some countries, large dogs are not allowed on public transport. So I use Walkli to find walks created by locals and travel experts. It’s free and you can also join this great initiative by sharing your views. There are so many hotel booking sites. I have trusted Booking since 2010. Never disappointed! I use Booking even more after traveling with my dog Shark. In fact, the website includes a “pet-friendly” filter, which is very helpful when planning a trip with your dog. You’ll find it under the “Features” menu on the left. In addition, each hotel indicates whether pets are allowed for free, for an additional fee, or on request. This detail saves a lot of time! Without it, I would have had to contact every hotel and ask if they would accept my dog.
Tip: In my booking experience, if a hotel allows pets for an extra fee or upon request, it usually means that only small ones are accepted. In that case, check with the hotel to find out their policy. On the other hand, if the hotel indicates that pets are allowed for free, great! Just let them know you are taking a dog or cat when you order.

For example, this is how I planned my trip to Western France in 2017. The website has a filter called “pets allowed” under “house rules” to help you find dog-friendly accommodations.

Campsites are very dog-friendly because they offer plenty of outdoor space. However, if you are out camping, make sure your dog is safely in the car or tent to protect it from predatory wild animals.
If you’re camping at a state park or private campground, check the site’s website or call ahead to make sure it’s a good spot for you and your pup.
Bring a full poop bag with you to dispose of your dog’s waste responsibly. Make sure you have enough food for your dog.
