Grand Island is just across the Munising shore of Lake Superior. You can take a 10-minute dog-friendly boat ride around or around the island. We live here in an old house in a national park. There are many tourists during the day. But if you have the chance to linger, you’ll be one of the few on a large and lonely island. Our dogs never objected and the tour went by quickly! The house is 2 km from the sea and we brought our bikes and bags, everything was covered for easy cleaning. But bring what you need!

This trail is in a national forest near where Interlochen lives. When we moved in the summer, it was a trailer and an apartment. This course has different lengths and levels of difficulty. So be sure to get those beautiful blues in your head when you see them. Looking back at the trail and these photos, I’m so grateful for my time in Northern Michigan (one of the hardest family experiences we can have in the summer, and Cotopaxi and all that puts our well-being first). That’s why it’s not just dog walking. A walker is a tool for dancing with lightning and getting out of the storm alive and well. We can do it and I hope everyone who is going through hard times knows that too.
