This dog-friendly resort is located in Catskill, New York, about two hours from Manhattan. We spent two nights and three days at the resort to rest and relax. He also wanted to take Gatsby on a little adventure.

This dog-friendly resort features 11 cabins nestled in the Catskill Forest. Depending on what you choose, they can accommodate 2 to 7 people. Each small house has its own unique name (ours was Oki). These homes feature kitchens, full bathrooms with toilets, heating/air conditioning systems, Wi-Fi, TVs with Netflix so you can watch your favorite shows, private patios with gas grills and fire pits.

There is also an off-leash play area for your dog. If your pup gets dirty while playing, there is a dog wash to keep them away.

The resort already offers everything you need! It’s like a small hotel on wheels in the jungle! I brought the raw food and Gatsby’s food to cook and grill.

There are farm animals on the property and free range chickens and goats! You’ll see some wildlife in the area, so it’s a good idea to keep your dog on a leash.

Savannah, Georgia feels like its own world. If you can visit, we recommend it. The place is literally haunted by history (there are plenty of haunted houses and cemeteries to show you!) Spanish moss is everywhere and creates an otherworldly feel. Head to Forsyth Park and Bonaventure Cemetery to experience it.

A good place to start exploring the city would be River Street, where old warehouses have been converted into shops and cafes that often allow dogs.

The north end is quieter if you prefer, and there’s even a section of south beach for dogs. Hilton Head Island is about an hour away and has wide beaches and several parks where dogs are welcome. Through the forest there are paths and trails perfect for walking. Both islands have plenty of dog-friendly restaurants, so you can bring your dog when you go out to eat after a day of exploring.

Savannah was a doggy getaway for us when we moved to Florida. We spent some time on Hilton Head Island and enjoyed an amazing sunset.

Then we explore Savannah, which has this beautiful exotic quality to it with all the Spanish moss, historic buildings and old roads. There is no other place like it. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal. So all in all it was a very memorable trip and we want to come back and stay longer if we get the chance.
