One of the things I really like about Waterville Valley Resort is that the resort has a long, relatively flat dog-friendly trail. It actually doubles as a ski trail, which is surprising, but skiers know that this trail is both pedestrian and dog friendly, so we rarely see skiers on this trail. My Husky Icy loves to walk this trail! He came to life on the snowy road, and although he is 14 years old, he is still a young dog. We had so much fun!
I can’t wait to get them out in the summer, but things aren’t going so well this summer for various reasons. He’s starting to slow down and I’m afraid he won’t be able to do even the simplest of walks after this year.

There aren’t many dog-friendly hotels in New Hampshire. Ironically, Waterville Valley Resort allows dogs on the resort grounds and on certain trails, but the hotels do not!
There are apartment buildings around the resort and many owners rent out their apartments, but none of them are pet friendly. There are also several lodges around the property, but only one is pet-friendly. It is called a snowy owl. We went there a year ago and it was terrible. The location is perfect, you can walk to everything at the resort, including the aforementioned dog friendly trail. I’m glad it’s under new ownership, so hopefully it’ll be updated again soon. The previous owner didn’t seem to put any money into fixing it up and we won’t be staying there until some changes are made.
For the past several years, we have stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott near Plymouth, New Hampshire. It’s about 20 minutes from Waterville Valley Ski Area, but it’s a great location! We like it there.
