Best Vacations That Are Dog Friendly – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down with a calendar and plan a few trips next year. It’s so cold and dark outside that curling up with a laptop and planning a trip is very satisfying.

Although we’ve temporarily put our major international travel on hold during the pandemic, we love to reacquaint ourselves with the Seattle area and all its fun (and dog-friendly!) weekends. After spending ten years in New York and Chicago, it’s so exciting to go back and rediscover the fun places of old, and all the glampsites, luxury hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have sprung up here. In 2019 we spent a beautiful Easter weekend in Seminyak and I look forward to the opportunity to go back to the fun places and remote beaches that Lizzie used to explore. If you’ve never heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We’ve been with them twice (in Vermont and on a trip to Maine that we blogged about here) and each trip has been great. Basically, they build luxury tents in private locations, like this beautiful fruit farm near Meade, Washington. Granted, Idaho is within walking distance of Seattle, but we’ll drive any distance to be in this sprawling state. Plus, little touches like a train and an old coffee grinder melt my heart. Pets are allowed and judging by the entrance to the stairs, you have to judge whether it is a pleasant holiday for you or not.
