Please check the tide tables before visiting as the tides are very fast. Jury’s Gap on the east side of the beach takes you to a lesser known area of Broomhill Sands. For water-loving dogs, Broomhill’s shallow waters at low tide are perfect for surfing. From the Blue House to The Barn, Camber Holiday Cottages have some of the best dog-friendly beach cottages in East Sussex, where you can check in and walk the beach from your Camber home.

Heading west along the coast from Camber, nearby Winchelsea Beach is flatter and quieter (you can visit the whole beach sometimes). Instead of sand, Winchelsea is muddy, with plenty of rock pools to dive into and places to play, with views of the Dungeness countryside and the Fairlight cliffs. Continuing west, you’ll reach Pett Level Beach for more rock formations and tailgating. For feet that don’t like shingles, there is a concrete path that runs along the end of the beach. Stay in the dog-friendly beach cabanas at Cliff-End Fort or Cloudbreak and the beach is on your doorstep. There are many more beautiful beaches west of St. Leonard’s Beach, east of Greatstone and Littlestone.
