Walla Walla is one of the best wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I honestly can’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I’ve been bookmarking this modern downtown hotel for a while because it looks like the perfect base camp for a snowy weekend or a wine weekend. Or both! Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with its waterfront fire pits. Although this Oregon Coast cottage is a bit far from Seattle, its beautiful modern interior and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean make the trip well worth it. Dogs up to 25 pounds are allowed in some rooms. Details here.
My New Year’s resolution is to book a stay at a fabulous cottage in St. Petersburg as soon as possible. Edward, which should be easy since the city is only half an hour away. This historic seminary has been transformed into a luxurious and charming retreat situated on 326 acres of trails on the shores of Lake Washington. We spent a wonderful weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – and wrote about it here – and the memories stayed with me in the early months leading up to closing. These innovative 570-square-foot apartments offer amenities like private patios, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. It’s an ideal base camp for exploring Vashon Island’s beautiful beaches and hiking trails. Dog-friendly Weekends Away Uk Guide Book Dog Friendly
We had a lovely Easter weekend in Semiahmoo 2019 and I was looking forward to a chance to get back to its beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loves to explore. Just steps from the Canadian border, this laid-back resort is the perfect base camp for great hikes and stunningly scenic coastal views of northern Washington. They are very dog friendly and pups are welcomed with their own bowls, beds and (at least on our visit) souvenirs. More details about dogs here.
Step back in time when you stay in one of these vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in the Willamette wine region. The trailer has coffee and toppings, luxurious linens and fancy clothes. Puppies are allowed in Shasta trailers, more information can be found here.
Anacortes is one of my favorite out of town trips. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle and you’ll find this quaint, downtown beach town full of quaint shops, delicious cafes, and water views. (The Watermark Book Company is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington!) And we love the very famous downtown hotel The Majestic for its cozy rooms and awesome rooftop bar.
