Dog Friendly Overnight Trips Near Me

Dog Friendly Overnight Trips Near Me – Last week, for my birthday, Oates and I went for a (mostly) relaxing few days unplugged at the amazing, dog-friendly Getaway House. Getaway is a company that has created communities of gorgeous tiny homes located about an hour from major cities across the country. We chose the place outside of Boston, which ended up being in southern New Hampshire, just over 3 hours from our home in Connecticut. It was a nice ride and easy to find.

My only goals were to relax, take long walks, read, and take some photos. And yes, I do it all with oats on my part. I loved that Getaways is dog-friendly, and they welcomed both of us with a little surprise: a S’mores kit for me and a cute bag of “Mutt Mallows” for the oatmeal. They also had two dog bowls and rolls of poop bags available for us in the cabin. Aside from the dog stuff, there was a small kitchen with basic amenities and everything I needed to cook for a few days. There was a two-burner stove, a sink with fresh running water, biodegradable soap, and a small refrigerator. If you decide to go completely off the grid, there are also books, playing cards, a small activity book, and a cell phone safe.

One of the things Getaway Cabins is known for is the huge windows in each home. Next to the bed is a large, beautiful window overlooking the forest (or in some places the mountains). Since booking this little adventure was a last-minute decision on my part (partly because I like to do things spontaneously, but also because I was making sure I didn’t have any work obligations that wouldn’t require you to stay home for (it) 3 days), There were only two cabins available. It was still a very cute little house, but it was fun to look out the huge window without the guest bed above me. But it gives us some hope for next time!

All beds are queen size and have pillows and linens – very comfortable. The huge window doesn’t open, but there is another small window at the end of the bed that can be opened to let in fresh air, which was nice at night as we were very lucky to have great weather. Apart from these two, there are also three other windows, so it is well ventilated and well lit.

On the first night, we took a short walk around the property and into a forest in the nearby town, then returned for dinner and a rest for the night. The next morning, I ate oatmeal and breakfast while reading and enjoying the light in the cabin, then we set off for a hike in the meadow of nearby Northwood State Park. It was a beautiful ride around a lake, so Oates was excited to be able to swim in different places along the way.

The route we did was 2.8 miles and I highly recommend it to anyone staying at Getaway Boston (or living nearby). There was a small information booklet in the cabin that suggested local tours, but I don’t think it was on the list. It was really nice, easy but lovely, dog friendly and only 13 minutes from the cabin. Oates was thrilled to be able to swim and we really enjoyed the trip. Also, does anyone know what type of caterpillar is on the tree in the middle picture here? We saw them everywhere and they were so cute and cuddly.

I asked Oates to stand on this rock for a picture, and since he did not take his eyes off the lake, I caught him looking at it. I immediately liked this photo because it reminded me of The Lion King. Everything that light touches…

Life’s A Beach At The Best Dog-friendly Getaway

Here are some cell phone photos taken during our trip (to see all my “snapshots” on the hike with commentary from Oates, check out my Instagram page (@) or by clicking here, where I linked the photo from this story. Added Powerful Moment title The trip is a ‘Getaway Trip’, with some videos and some additional details and photos of the cabin and our route – including the odd cabin toilet.

After our trip, it was still daytime and I wanted to do something fun and dog-friendly before heading back to the cabin in the evening. There is a dog-friendly brasserie near the chalet, but unfortunately it is only open from Friday to Sunday and we were there mid-week. So when I started looking for other dog-friendly activities nearby, I kept seeing places in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It turned out that Portsmouth was only 30 minutes from the national park we were in, so we went there for the afternoon. We walked around, visited cute shops, took a few quick photos, and got love (and kisses) from many kind strangers. It was a perfect late summer afternoon for walking a few miles in a cute little seaside town.

We were then able to return to this wonderful little house and relax for the rest of the evening. The cabin’s outdoor area is equipped with a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and a cabin that holds firewood and a lighting kit if you want to build a campfire. Just take what you need and they will charge it to your card later.

5 Dog Friendly Weekend Getaways In Northern California

I tried to relax a little every morning and enjoyed drinking tea, reading, eating breakfast, and eating oatmeal. It was nice to be almost unplugged, with no computers or TV and a beautiful view of the forest.

On our last morning before heading home we took another local trip. I didn’t get my camera out to take many pictures, but I saw this cute little patch of young pines and thought Oates would look beautiful surrounded by greenery, so I stood in front of it for a few minutes. She was clearly having a good time. Maybe a Christmas card?? ,

Notice the difference between cell phone photos (below) and camera photos (above). Although taking a real camera on a hike isn’t ideal (and it usually isn’t), sometimes it’s nice to take some good photos in the woods. I only took a little and then put the camera away to enjoy the rest of the ride.

Oates and I really enjoyed our trip to New Hampshire and our stay at Getaway Cottage. There was no noise or traffic. We were alone but there were many other people around. There was electricity and water but no wifi or TV. According to my sleep app, I slept better on both nights of my flight than I had in weeks. We’ve only been able to breathe outside for a few days, but we still have the comforts of home in a small cabin. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone who travels with dogs and wants to “get away” for a few days.

Powerant crime is real. Like parents of (human) children, those of us with fur babies feel bad when the responsibilities of everyday life make it difficult to spend quality time with our precious pets. One way to alleviate some of that guilt: pampering our four-legged friends with a pampering treat.

This gave me the perfect excuse – I mean reason – to bring Ralph, my cute but very practical Shiba Inu dog, as a co-reviewer for some of these new events.

First, we went to Artisan Singapore on Cuskadan Road, which made a great first impression on Ralph with its lush vertical garden.
