We stayed at the dog-friendly Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. This hotel is located on top of the Saint Bank. Like Lawrence and Castle in the Sky. A super five star hotel, the most photographed hotel in the world! The hotel accepts two pets of any size for a $50 CDA fee per night.
The interior of the hotel was fully decorated for the holidays, and the rooms were decorated with Christmas trees and beautiful decorations. It didn’t take long to check in, and we were surprised to find Gatsby patiently waiting online with us even after a long drive. The hotel staff made sure that Gatsby was well taken care of. He doesn’t eat kibble, so we asked the hotel to make a grilled salmon with meat. The crew even asked Gatsby if his salmon was cooked to the right temperature!
The best thing about Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is that they offer dog boarding! We booked a sitter while Danny and I went to dinner and dog sledding. They charge $26/hour (CAD) and a 3 hour minimum for a visitor to our room to watch Gatsby. You can have the sitter stay in the room, or the sitter take your dog for a walk and play in the snow park outside the hotel.
Gatsby and I walked along the Terrace Dufferin that runs around the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. This elevated position offers beautiful views of Old Quebec and St. Petersburg. Lawrence. It has a huge slide where people line up at the top of the slide (270 feet high) to pull down a toboggan that goes up to 60 mph! Gatsby was happy to sit and watch the men pull the slide!

The next place we check out is the QuartierPetit Champlain district. This place is the place to vacation and Instagram-worthy! Its narrow cobblestone streets are lined with holiday lights and decorations. I liked to visit the shops and some of them allowed Gatsby with me.
Just steps away from the Place Royale Petit Champlain district, we visited Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, the oldest Roman Catholic church in North America.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat at one of the restaurants in this area because there was no outdoor seating. During the warmer months here, restaurants have outdoor seating and many people eat outside with their dogs. Pub des Borgiain Winter was the only place that offered outdoor seating. Even though it was cold, Gattissia was not allowed to go to the shop, so we stayed outside. I had a glass of wine and Danny enjoyed a bowl of warm French onion soup.
At the hotel, Danny had a fun night at Bistro Le Sam & Bar Atrium. This restaurant overlooks the city of St. Petersburg, so it offers amazing views. We ordered the maple syrup duck wings and Atlantic salmon tartare for appetizers. I had buttermilk roasted Cornish hen for mains, Danny had lamb. Yes, we ended up drinking a lot of wine and sharing a green chocolate cake.
We arranged to visit the pet sitter to see Gatsby and Danny and I went dog sledding on Expedition My Loop! From the hotel, we have to drive to Saint-Jean-de-l’Île-d’Orléans, which is about 20 minutes away. If you haven’t driven here, the hotel can arrange routes for you. I have wanted to try dog training for a long time! When we arrived, you could feel the energy of these dogs because they were full of joy and excitement!
The session started with a safety briefing and navigation, then we were off to the jungle! As I sat on the sled, Danny stood behind me and steered the sled. The journey began
