Let’s start with a little background on how we became modern pet parents. A few years ago, when COVID suddenly disappeared into our lives and the first shutdown began, my husband and I joined a community of pet owners to help feed stray dogs on the streets. And then we found a very cute pack of puppies that got lost in the park without their mother. They were barely a few weeks old and we took turns feeding them. One of them was a smart and playful dog and one of our friends immediately named him Raju, as it was a favorite name for a dog.
Raju grew bolder and bolder day by day and soon became the happy but strong alpha. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and he was apparently beaten by bullies in the dead of night when he was six months old and broke his back. Raju, a very cool boy, was paraplegic and in so much pain that most doctors told him to put him down. Finally, one of them agreed to the operation and we brought him home, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and run like a normal dog. But after two years, when he stands up and can walk a little, he is still semi-paralyzed and restless, but he runs in the wheelchair that we gave him. And Raju is quite a wanderer, he lived on the beach and in the jungles, and now he was on a wonderful vacation in the mountains. His younger sister Ayesha has always been with him thick and thin and she started staying with us for the past few months and this trip was her first trip away from home.

The staff loved pets so much that Raju and Ishu felt so comfortable there. They would walk and run with us, lay on the grass, sunbathe, chase ducks and ducks, gaze at the open green from their balconies, and sleep with their heads bowed, dreaming of new things to do.
