Dog Friendly Accommodation At Grassington Bunkbarn In Yorkshire
Barn Owl Cottage is a beautiful stone built, dog friendly, easily accessible barn conversion with all accommodation on the ground floor. It is located in beautiful countryside on the edge of the Howardian Hills AONB, close to the attractive village of Brandsby. Situated just over 10 miles from the historic city of York, rich in history and culture, this beautiful area of North Yorkshire has a lot to offer.
The Wishing Well is a lovely little cottage for just two on Millgate, in the Georgian town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. The houses on this street are all different, built at different times, but they all face a steep bank that eventually descends to the River Swale. Known as the gateway to the Dales, Richmond is the ideal base from which to explore all that this beautiful part of Yorkshire has to offer.
Properties such as The Old Dairy in Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe, near Thirsk, are particularly pet-friendly. New in 2021, the cottage is surrounded by gardens extending into the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. There is an outdoor kennel ideal for large dogs and mutts who are used to their own personal space.
Run into the forest! This secluded retreat is set in a beautiful woodland garden in the village of Sand Hutton near York. A former barn has been beautifully converted into a romantic log cabin designed for just two.
Dog Friendly Pubs In Yorkshire Dales
Sunflower Cottage in Ampleforth is another addition to our collection. It’s located on the edge of the moor, close to plenty of walking trails for all skill levels and a steam train for a vintage-style day out. The interior design creates a feeling of light, and the soothing color palette promotes relaxation. And the folding gate ensures your inquisitive pup won’t wander around the large garden.
The valleys, like the moors, offer endless walking opportunities and the proximity of lakes (as well as for swimming enthusiasts such as Labradors and spaniels). Braunber Hall can accommodate groups of up to 15 guests, as well as up to two dogs. This elegant choice has been featured in publications including The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Guardian, Condé Nast, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair and Marie Claire. Brownbear’s personal chef will prepare gourmet meals, private picnics and even luxurious dog treats.
The extensive Brownbear estate now also includes Brownbear House, adjacent to the Great Hall. Former Soho home architect Georgina Rose recently renovated the house, which includes a storage room in which to dry mud before spending the evening in the living room.
Of course, privacy does not mean lack of access to amenities. Next Door is located just eight miles from York’s historic city centre. Another two-bedroom barn with a private courtyard overlooking an acre of garden and woodland, creating a back-to-nature feel. It has tasteful interiors and features an on-site honesty store, fire pit, craft activities, mud kitchen and forestry crafts. A favorite among families, Next Door has a modern yet casual atmosphere.

There’s nothing better than seeing your dog run across the sand, tongue lashing, ears flapping and the wind ruffling his fur. But the beach on the coast offers more than just beautiful scenery and sunbathing; Negative ions contained in coastal air help the body absorb oxygen by regulating serotonin levels, which in turn improves mood and reduces stress.
Misty Cottage is just five minutes’ walk from the beach and close to Whitby Harbour, offering residents superb views of the distant sea. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a dining area for 10 people and a perimeter garden/terrace provide plenty of space for large groups to relax after an energetic day at the beach.
A former mill from the 1800s, now lovingly restored as a luxury five-bedroom seaside country house. The old mill, located on just under an acre of land, is surrounded by woods with a running stream. Situated on the outskirts of Rooswarp, about a mile from the famous Whitby Harbour.
With stunning walks at each of our properties, there are plenty of exercise opportunities for both people and dogs. However, guests are by no means limited to outdoor activities.
