Dog Friendly Vacations Kentucky
One of the most important things when planning a trip with your dog is where to stay when you get there. While not all hotels and rentals allow pets, there are several places in and around Danville where pets are welcome. Check with the property itself and confirm their policy before booking. Find a list of available hotels and other rental properties here.

(Hotels and short-term rentals in and around Danville — like Airbnbs — welcome travelers and their dogs.)
You want to have fun on vacation, and so does your dog! So be sure to take them to the dog park at Millennium Park, which has three large, fenced areas under mature trees where your dog can run and play, and maybe meet new friends.
To get to the dog park, enter Millennium Park on Cunningham Way, off Perryville Road, and as you enter the park, follow the road to the end. Walk a short distance along the asphalt path until you reach the dog park.
If your dog likes to join you for a leisurely walk, the two-mile trail that circles the park is a great alternative.
Did You Know That…

Finding a place to enjoy a meal with your dog can be difficult, but some local restaurants have outdoor seating where you can eat together. Some restaurants and shops have water fountains outside and you can also find dog food outside at La Cosa Nostra and Copper & Oak restaurants. The Central Fire Station on West Main Street keeps a bowl of fresh water on the side of the street for thirsty boys who pass by.
You can also get food to go and enjoy a pet-friendly picnic at Constitution Square Park downtown. Or walk another block to Morley’s Backyard, a neighborhood gathering place known for craft beer, games, music and food. Morley dogs love dogs too!
If you like events, there are several in the city and region where fur lovers are always welcome. You can often see dogs walking their owners at the weekly farmers market in Constitution Square (Saturdays 9am-12pm, May-October), at Downtown Downbeat concerts (First Thursdays 6-9pm, May-October), The Great American Festival of Brass band (the first weekend in June), the annual Forkland Festival in October, and local Perryville events such as the annual Turtle Derby in July and memorial events in October.

Along with the Millennium Park Trail, Danville has several other trails around town that you can walk your dog on. You can also take them to the Perryville Battlefield Historic Site, which has 20 miles of trails, or the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge, which also has several trails.
Although Danville and Boyle County have several places where dogs are welcome, there are also annual events that – in fact – about dogs.
The Kentucky Dock Dogs Club hosts an annual weekend of high-flying, high-flying events that are open to the public and your dog. Showroom Summer Splash features dogs competing to see how far and how high they can jump into a large pool set up for the event. If you think your dog would like to try it, he has time to devote to it.
(One weekend a year, the showroom has Summer Splash dogs who compete to see who can jump the furthest and farthest.)
Dog Friendly Kentucky
Before you leave town – or if you need anything while you’re here – stop by PetSmart, Petsense, Burkmann Nutrition or Feeders Pet Supply – to find a new dog toy or whatever else your precious pup needs. Who doesn’t like a souvenir to take home?
(Your dog can help sniff out gifts for you—and for them—at the Farmers Market in Constitution Square.) Want to bring your dog to one of the most popular rock climbing spots in the eastern United States? Red River Gorge Kentucky is known for rock climbing and has many National Forest dog trails. Come experience the Red River Gorge Tour with us!
Rock climbing gets the hype in #RedRiverGorgeous. But hiking trails, outdoor fun spots like Miguel’s Pizza, and areas surrounded by parks and national forests are also popular. And almost all are dog friendly! (Natural Bridge and Whittleton Arch are two that are not.)
It is a great privilege to bring your dogs in public places, please do. if the area needs it, clean up afterwards and listen. And while we’re at it… step aside and pick up your 10 essentials :)!
The Best Pet-friendly Hotels In Every Southern State
My dog Cotopaxi is a B.A.R.K. Ranger and if you choose to bring the world’s best friends on a cruise, please consider the same.
The Red River Gorge is located in Kentucky a few hours from Lexington, Cincinnati, Columbus, Nashville, Knoxville and more. It is also the second or third largest rock climbing area in the entire United States. (Maybe second only to Yosemite National Park in California, maybe Joshua Tree in California too.) It’s a mecca for hikers, but its great location and funky vibe (in rural Kentucky) also makes it a great place for hiking, camping and other Forms. of recreational activities.
My two favorite hikes to take the dog are Swift Camp Creek Trail and Rock Bridge.
The Swift Camp Creek Trail has several starting points and ends in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Rock Bridge has an adjacent trailhead at Swift Camp Creek if you want to combine the two on a day trip.
The Best Dog-friendly Beaches In The U.s.
Two trips to me are good for dogs. They are allowed to be on the road and the distance helps them.
The Sky Bridge station is close enough to be picked up, although I haven’t eaten there yet. Mainly because I just visited the Red River Gorge and went in the off season. So he has a few hours.
2. Miguel S. Pizza is good in basketball court. There is so much to hear. It is the “Chamber Four of the East” and a destination for rock climbers from all over the world!

10 Dog Friendly Las Vegas Restaurants To Roll Over For!
We love our dog Cotopaxi at Lago Linda in our camper. (We won the contest and took a trip to our friends Van Rental and Road Trip App at the time.)
The crowd and vibe is quieter and bigger than Miguel’s. We stayed there with experienced rock climbers and a group from Quebec who spent several months climbing the Red River Gorge.
The campground has tons of space and miles and miles of real hiking trails inside. We would mainly walk to other routes in the morning, have lunch, and climb back to the place in the afternoon. They have a restaurant on site, but they are open on Saturdays and Sundays during the shoulder season.
Miguel has cheap campsites scattered around and I like to stay there too. But with a dog his age, I’ll stick to Lago Linda now. (I’m spending the afternoon at Miguel’s!)

Climbing chat seems to displace Kentucky as a great outdoor destination for things other than rock climbing. And yes rock climbing is great, I climb it every time we go.
But the roads aren’t too busy, they’re dog-friendly, they’re accessible from several major cities, and there’s interesting scenery. Plus all the places we tried to visit (restaurants, campgrounds, etc.) had great options for dogs.
Red River Gorge Kentucky is most of my life behind me and it took me a long time to visit it. But when I came back, I came back and saw it as my favorite place in the Midwest/High South of the United States.
