Best Dog Vacations West Coast

Best Dog Vacations West Coast

Best Dog Vacations West Coast – For this post, I wanted to look at the best places for dogs in the West, focusing on California and Oregon, two states where you can easily travel with pets (I know because I travel here all the time)!  In this area, I wanted to find places that were more dog-friendly: that is, large dog parks or dog-friendly beaches, good pet hotels, and the quiet atmosphere of the city make it easy to bring. with your event  I also found some great places like Bend, Oregon and Carmel, California among others  Join me and my dog Dylan as we explore the “Best Dog Friendly Places on the West Coast”.

Although my only dog-friendly beach in Oregon is Cannon Beach, be warned: almost every beach in Oregon is dog-friendly and has fewer rules and restrictions than California beaches! Translation: The Oregon Coast is the PERFECT place for a dog-friendly trip Picture of Gold Beach, Oregon

I love Cannon Beach for so many reasons: charming town, tons of great restaurants, COFFEE (SLEEPING MONKEYS!!), tons of top-notch pet-friendly hotels, and of course: PET FRIENDLY BEACH 100% private.  No need for a lanyard here!!  In this respect, Oregon is quieter than California  And the view of Haystack Rock will awe you, especially at sunset  Walk your pooch along Ocean Avenue, grab a bowl of chowder from one of the many outdoor patios, and be sure to stop by the cute pet shop around the corner: Puppy Love on the Beach.

***My picks for pet friendly hotels in Cannon Beach: A tie between: Ocean Lodge and Surfsand Resort.  Both are high-end beach hotels and are very pet-friendly  Ocean Lodge rooms are big and take advantage of the view~ but Surfsand Town and Haystack Rock are close, the rooms are nice, and their Wafer restaurant is my favorite place in town (and they serve room service)…

Bonds in America is my current home, and to be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever lived anywhere else for pets.  The staggering number of dog parks in Bend alone puts California’s dog parks to shame, and almost every restaurant in the city with patios is dog-friendly, including: McMenamin St. Francis School (which includes a pub, brewery, cinema, concert hall, tobacconists and a hotel combined with a Catholic school), Naked Winery, Avid Cider, Crooks Brewing, 10 Barrels… and the list goes on… and AGAIN.

Bend has more attractions, hotels and restaurants than any other city on this list! Dylan painted on a popular trail along the Deschutes River in downtown Bend

***My pick for the best pet friendly hotels in Bend: Tetherow Golf Resort  At Tetherow you have a luxury golf course residence with AMAZING mountain views and only 5 minutes from downtown Bend and the famous Old Mill District.  This is the best place for pets in the city  Alternatively, head to Sunriver Resort, about 20 minutes south of Bend: one of the best family resorts in the United States.

Dog Friendly Cottages

Carmel Main Beach is my favorite dog-friendly beach in the world: the famous Pebble Beach is on the right, and if you walk along the moon-shaped beach on the left, you’ll see cypress trees. , with millions of homes of all types…from charming, rustic to elegant and modern.  There’s a reason Clint Eastwood is here: There’s something special about Carmel

And this city loves dogs: they’re welcome almost everywhere~ but I love the beautiful patio at Furze in the Forest, which has a dog list specifically…

Carmel isn’t the only place in Monterey Bay with a beautiful ocean view: head to Pacific Grove and walk along the beach to see such a view…

***My favorite dog-friendly hotel in Carmel: The Lodge at Pebble Beach  Yes, it’s expensive, but according to my parents and helpful bellhop: every room here is pet friendly!  You can take any dog with you  If you’re looking for an affordable option in Carmel, try the dog-friendly Cypress Inn Doris Day.

Top 8 Dog-friendly Beaches In Pembrokeshire

I grew up in Orange County and last week I met some friends in Huntington Beach at the new Pacific City Shopping Center.  When I went home for Christmas, I had Dylan with me, which meant I got to take him to the mall… High End Boutique called us in, had coffee with us, and we all ate lunch on Simji’s patio. And the sea I’d be back in a heartbeat!  There’s another reason to visit Huntington with your pooch: It’s the only beach in Orange County where dogs are allowed off leash.

***My Favorite Dog Friendly Hotel in Huntington Beach: Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach.  Kimpton is incredibly cute and always dog friendly… they even offer dog happy hour!  This particular one also has a romantic feel, with ocean views filled with light blue ~ and you’re steps away from the pier, Main Street, and the ocean.  And Huntington Beach is just a few miles north…

San Diego has not one, but two dog-friendly beaches, and both are located in attractive locations: Del Mar and Coronado.  Last year, Dylan and I tried the Del Mar dog beach just south of Encinatas.  Although it’s not as big as Carmel Beach: it’s still fun  There were happy dogs running in and out of the water, people were relaxed and friendly, and parking was easy on the same street as the beach entrance.  Coronado Dog Beach has pure white sand and is several miles from the Old Del Coronado Hotel.

Coronado Dog Beach is the best place in Southern California to play in the sand with your pet.

***My Top Dog Friendly Hotels in San Diego: San Diego is big, so it depends on where you want to stay.  For North County, try upscale restaurant L’Auberge Del Mar, which accepts two dogs of any size.  If you’re in the Gaslamp Quarter, try the modern Hotel Indigo with its rooftop terrace.  And if you want to be closer to Coronado’s legendary beaches, check out the Hotel del Coronado, which has three pet-friendly restaurants!  (Dogs up to 40 pounds at Dell only.)

This concludes our selection of the best dog friendly places on the West Coast!  I’d like to add something: a lot of travel articles I’m reading right now seem to be written by A.I Or by organizers who don’t know how to get to the recommended places  Rest assured that I’ve visited every place on this list in the past year, so my recommendations are up-to-date and ready for 2020 and beyond!

Dylan and I have been traveling between California and Oregon every year since 2010, so these are all places I really visit and look forward to returning to every year.
