Belmont Harbor Dog Beach is also worth checking out. Although very small at just 0.15 acres, this fully fenced beach offers a safe place for dogs of all ages to get wet and have fun. There are also beautiful views of the Chicago skyline, so you’ll want to take a selfie with your cat.

Looking for a dog-friendly campground in Chicago? You have to go a little outside the city to find what you are looking for.

One option to consider is the Chicago Northwest KOA, located about 60 miles from Union. There’s plenty of fun for families, with mini-golf, climbing courses and a large playground. Four-legged family members are welcome with a dog park and nearby hiking trails, so your pooch will love staying here, too.

This 2,182-acre park is located 50 miles from downtown Chicago, on a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Michigan. Although dogs are not allowed on the beach, they are welcome at the 140-site campground. Just keep your cat on a leash and follow him at all times.

Camp Bullfrog Lake near Chicago also accepts dogs. About half an hour away in Willow Springs, the park offers a mix of tent and RV sites. Two-legged guests will enjoy the excellent fishing and kayaking offered on the 16-acre lake, but you must keep your cat leashed and supervised at all times.

One of the highlights of a trip to a big city like Chicago is the quality and variety of dining on offer. Almost any food you can imagine can be found in the Windy City. We’re talking classic Mexican, Chicago-style hot dogs, famous delis, and of course, delicious deep-dish pizzas.

If you know where to look, you can choose from a wide range of dog-friendly restaurants. Some even go so far as to bring your dog along, and even offer a special menu for canines. This means your dog can enjoy a homemade treat, burger patty, or dog-friendly dessert while you eat your own!

Many Chicago bars have also adopted a dog-friendly approach. Some keep dogs in yards and outdoor areas, while others welcome dogs indoors, and you’ll also find places that offer special “yuppie hours” and other activities for pet parents. Sounds pretty “passive” doesn’t it?

In a post-fact world, you can take your cat anywhere. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible, especially in some of Chicago’s most popular areas, so why not book a dog walking tour in Chicago while you do some sightseeing?
