A real bed is probably the most important thing for glamping to me so this looks like a perfect place to visit. This is an eco-friendly yurt built with local materials. With room for 4 people and a dog, there is a wood stove in the middle of the yurt to keep everyone nice and warm at night.
Bathrooms and kitchens are on site for all glampers to use. Also, there is a children’s playground on site.

Located on the lake are these Skydome Yurts which are truly beautiful. They are fully enclosed and therefore open all year round – so you never have to feel the cold with a hot stove. Just lie in bed and enjoy the peace and quiet while watching the stars across the sky.
The area includes a communal lounge area which includes a self-contained kitchen, dining room, toilet and hot tub. Here you can drink coffee and read a book, play cards, meet fellow travelers and plan your day’s activities. If you can pull yourself away from the resort and the view, you’ll find some of the best beaches on the nearby Wild Atlantic Way. The house is an excellent base for climbing Benbulbane Mountain or exploring the Benwiskin Way including the famous Gleniff Horseshoe. Please note that there is open country in the mountains so please respect the ‘no dog’ route.

Winkle Cottage is one of our favorite Airbnbs, with a cozy contemporary coastal look complete with wood burning stove, hot tub and sitters. The hosts, Sheilagh and Alex, are self-proclaimed “high-maintenance travelers”, which means they’ve thought of everything you need for an unforgettable stay; Receive a welcome hamper of local food.
Juno enjoyed walking in the large garden and was able to escape while we enjoyed the sunset over the Donegal cape from the hottub. The cottage has a beautiful view of the Skerries Islands and is less than 5 minutes from Whiterocks Beach, the beautiful Dunluce Castle and the charming market town of Bushmills (famous for its whiskey).
Formerly the home of American artist Frank Russell, the artist’s studio and adjoining house (perfect for large parties) have been lovingly restored by the new owner, Julie. Named after the nearby Lough, ‘Laharandota’ is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty of West Cork. Located in an unspoiled area on the southwest coast of the Sheep’s Head Peninsula, the artist’s studio at Dunmans Bay overlooks the sea. The apartment is surrounded by a peaceful garden with a swimming pool and a rushing river! Both properties are dog friendly and the garden is a great place for dogs to explore. Please note that many paths in this part of Ireland, including the Sheep’s Head Way and the Berra Way, are not allowed. That said, we put Juno in charge and were told by the locals that as long as the dog does not harm the local sheep, there is no problem.

We explored the Coast Causeway in Lal in three days, driving every night on a beautiful beach where we could enjoy the stars around a small fire built in the sand and listen to the sound of the sea before going for a swim at sunrise to pack the rug and mattress. You collect the car from Cathal’s beautiful traditional house in Waterfoot, Co Antrim where we are served with chard and spinach from the garden. Cathal and his partner, Jules are so warm and welcoming, you will be tempted to invite them on your trip!
There is something very exciting and magical about taking a ship across the Atlantic. Stopping at Runagh Pier to wait for the ferry to Clare Island is an experience in itself as a sheep is tied up on the pier after its journey is over.
