There are plenty of places for dogs to play along the stream, while you appreciate what we like to keep as one of Norfolk’s best kept secrets. The sand is never too busy, giving you space to wander and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Keep an eye out for seals in the water as they migrate south from their colony to the Hershey coast. All in all, it’s hard to believe you’re north of Great Yarmouth, which is close to our other dog-friendly Norfolk park. You’ll find all dog-friendly places in our parks that welcome all members of your family with open arms.

To the south of the tennis courts all year round, other areas available from 1st October to 30th April Gorleston is another good option if you decide to stay in our Norfolk parks, particularly Hopton and Wild Dock which are both a short drive away. Arguably one of the best dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk, it lies just south of Great Yarmouth but has the charm and content of many more famous neighbors to the north. Popular with dog walkers and young families, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards in high season, but the place comes into its own during calmer periods, when there’s no limit to how far you can go. Parking is easy here, and there are plenty of places to sit and relax as you walk the two-mile path to the beach. Fish and chips are a reasonably popular choice in town, as well as other tasty options on a day out here.

Gorleston is another good option if you decide to stay in our Norfolk parks, particularly Hopton and Wild Dock which are both a short drive away. Arguably one of the best dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk, it lies just south of Great Yarmouth but has most of the charm and content of its famous northern neighbour.

This dog-friendly Norfolk beach gem is located at the point where Norfolk’s east coast meets the north. One of the most famous tracks on this list, it’s perfect for walking with the dog, with great paths in every direction that give you a breath of fresh air and views over the North Sea. The area’s beaches are all united as one, meaning you and your furry friends can explore as long as you want without interruption.

Another sandbar that’s never too busy, Cart Gap ends at the end of a single track over miles of farmland. You’ll see as many tractors as cars here, but there’s also a lovely little Smallsticks shop just a stone’s throw from the beach car park and perfect for a snack or two. This local legend lets you sit outside and sample the surroundings while refueling with your dog. The 40 minute drive from our Norfolk park is scenic to say the least, and well worth the time it takes to get there.

Nearby Cart Gap, Happisburgh (pronounced ‘haze-bruh’) offers a complete change of scenery with epic cliffs leading you to the sands of this Norfolk region. Shaped by coastal erosion, the sand is calm even in the worst of times and is a good alternative to other beaches in the area.

You will see an 18th century lighthouse that has served many important functions over the years and is believed to be the oldest working lighthouse in England. It is possible to climb the stairs with about 100 steps and be rewarded with an overview of the sand and the beautiful village. That said, the settlement is a true Norfolk beauty, with Hill House Inn, Church and Cricket Club in a truly English setting.

One of the best Blue Flag beaches in England, let alone Norfolk, is located north of Wales-next-the-Sea on the north coast of Holkham County. The geography here is exotic and beautiful, with the beaches separated from the city by beautiful waterways that flow directly south from the North Sea into the heart of Norfolk’s Coastal Area of ​​Outstanding Natural Beauty. It may be one of the longer journeys from Norfolk National Park, but the extra effort is worth it, especially if you bring your dog!

The stretch of golden sand comes to life as you walk through this idyllic rural paradise, and at low tide it’s almost as wide as it is wide. Even at the busiest times, you’re guaranteed a place to relax here, and with all the city’s amenities just a 20-minute walk or short cycle away, it’s very refreshing. The beach has featured in popular productions such as The Eagle Has Landed and The Avengers, so don’t be surprised if some locations look a little familiar.

Hunstanton is a unique beach in Norfolk. The only town with a west-facing beach, it attracts dog walkers, hikers and day-trippers with access to beautiful sandy and shingle beaches that overlook the nearby Lincolnshire countryside across the bay in the distance. The resort itself was built for tourism in 1846 and retains much of its 19th century character making it a very popular retreat today. That popularity continues to this day, with excellent facilities and beautiful views making it a visitor experience.

The sunsets here are particularly beautiful because of the location on the beach, and this unique location as far as Norfolk is concerned is reflected in the jagged cliffs and white cliffs near the beach. At less than two hours, Hunstanton can be one of the longer journeys from our park, but the walk is more than worth your time.
