Once you’ve decided, invite this person over to your home before you leave to learn more about your dog’s daily behavior and build trust between your fur and the sitter. Seeing a familiar face when you’re not around helps dogs get used to you not being around. Write a list of your pet’s caregivers, including feeding schedules, health restrictions, and your veterinarian’s emergency phone number.

Invest in animal-friendly technology. Just because you’re out of the house doesn’t mean you can’t interact with your pet! There are now many options for indoor cameras designed for pet owners. Not only do these cameras allow you to see what your pet is doing, they also allow you to talk to them via speakerphone, and some even let you import contacts through the app!
Update your dog’s tags and microchip. If you live in an unfenced apartment or house, there is an unfortunate possibility that your pet will run free, especially if your dog is used to obeying your commands. It’s important to make sure your pup’s ID numbers are displayed on his collar and his microchips match so the good people know who your fur belongs to when they find them.
“Puppy proof” your home. Just as you make sure your home is safe for your dog, you should do the same for any dogs that are left alone for long periods of time or may be stressed by your separation. Chewing is a result of separation anxiety, so it is important to keep all dangerous things out of your child’s reach so that he does not risk his health and damage his belongings.

This has nothing to do with driving per se, but it’s important because I wanted to share it. haha, get it – before you start breeding dogs, do your pet emergency first. God forbid something happens to your fur baby, but it never hurts to be prepared. I always make sure I have contact information for the nearest clinic in case of an emergency, and I encourage you to do the same.
On a lighter note, Vacasa sent me a box of summer travel gear and I wanted to show off my new gear. Here I bought: new baseball cap, passport + pen, reusable straw (!!!!!) and new water bottle, luggage.
