Dog Friendly Vacations Arizona – The hardest part of being a travel blogger is the way my dogs stare every time I pack my bags. After returning from a two-week work trip, I wanted to treat my dogs to an epic road trip through the American Southwest. Famous for its dry climate, beautiful scenery and desert landscape, the Southwest is a must-visit country. He is a very good dog. From Arizona to Utah, here are the best places in the Southwest to visit with your pets.
Sedona’s Devil’s Bridge is one of the most popular tourist and photo spots in the area, and no trip to Sedona is complete without visiting this beautiful site at least once.

The Devil’s Bridge is difficult to climb and can get crowded during high season. There are two ways to start the Devil’s Bridge Trail from the main parking lot. Both take you to the same place, but one is on a 4×4 dirt road and the other is a long way through the desert.

As the day was very hot and the climb was too steep for our small dogs, we decided to go with the 4X4 track, where you can reach the track faster and reduce your walking time (reduce your walking time by 70%) , but your car has high clearance and four- Must have wheel drive.
If you don’t have 4 wheel drive, can you book a guided tour with Pink Tourist Jeep? This is a Sedona tour company that will take you on classic trail rides and tours of the Red Rock area!
You have to walk just one mile from the upland bus station. Very easy for our dog. Eventually, you’ll see a tree along the way. Turn left and you will be taken under the Devil’s Bridge. The path to the north is a short path that leads to the top of Devil’s Bridge. The trail is rocky and requires various climbs and steps.
You will climb 2 natural stone steps where the path leads to the bridge. After the first step, a first overview of your country.

3 Traveling with dogs comes with many challenges. Consider taking a trip with your dogs where every restaurant you go to is pet friendly. And living is hard.
That’s why we decided to go glamping. Some campgrounds and Airbnbs in Arizona offer “glamping.” Glamping is perfect for those looking to escape to nature with a little comfort of home. Luckily, we found this pet-friendly resort at Williams – Grand Canyon Glamping Eco-Yurt.
This yurt is perfect for couples, families or groups looking for a natural escape. Adjacent to the tent is a separate bathroom and outdoor sunbathing area. They charge $10 per animal for cleaning which is very reasonable. Our 3 dogs enjoyed their first glamping experience! Read more about our glamping experience here.
While many national parks lack when it comes to animal access, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park offers a refreshing alternative to traveling with your pets.
10 Unique Pet Friendly Day Trips In Arizona
Dogs of all breeds are not admitted free of charge and must be on a leash at all times, cleaned after and under control of the owner. Dogs are allowed around the park, but not inside the buildings. Check out my complete guide to Monument Valley here.
You may have seen pictures of the beautiful Horseshoe Bend. This video has become popular in recent years thanks to Instagram and trust me when I say life is more amazing. Horseshoe Bend attracts visitors for its short hike (only 20 minutes) and beautiful scenery.
The best thing about Horseshoe Bend is that it is dog friendly. Dogs are welcome at Horseshoe Bend as long as their companions keep them on a leash longer than six feet. Dogs should always be physically restrained from their human companions.
There are queues of people to get close and take pictures or take some selfies. As we descended the ledge, my 3 dogs kept jumping down the rock steps and squinting 1000 feet down to the delight of some onlookers and the horror of others.

My advice is to be very careful on the side because there are no walls. Be considerate of other people because your dogs don’t know much about themselves or others.
Coral Pink Sand Dunes is a great photo spot with warm, pink sand dunes. The park is located southeast of Zion National Park and offers views of the Zion area.
When you leave the pavement, you will notice how soft the sand is. Very soft sand is like a cozy blanket.
Since we arrived at the park early in the morning (7-8am), there were not many off-road activities in the hills. From my research, people say that OHVs can be a huge nuisance to visitors because they can use up to 90% of the park so there is no way to stop them. But luckily for us, there was no one there and we had the whole place to ourselves. So I let my dogs loose.

As the sun began to rise, the sand dunes began to show their beautiful red color. It’s amazing to see!
Our dog happily runs up the hill. Then we sat and looked at the hot sand and just admired the view.
Babylon Arch is a short and easy climb with minimal elevation gain. It was a short family trip to the Virgin Islands and back. The trail is very sandy, making it difficult to climb the hills.
4 wheel drive is required to get to the top of the trail. That’s why there is no one here, only you. Our dog is free again. The walk is good, but there is no shade, so bring plenty of water. And it won’t be long before you feel like you’ve landed on Mars with sandstone formations all around you.

Valley of Fire State Park, located about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, is a spectacular wilderness of bold red cliffs, red canyons, and rolling rock formations.
Valley of Fire is a small park, but there is a lot to explore. There are miles of hiking trails if you have time for a hike. One of our favorite songs here is Fire Wave. The Wave in Page, not to be confused with AZ, is a swirl of color, creating a wave-like appearance. Take your time to explore the area, because every way you turn you will find a beautiful place.
Our last stop before heading home was Las Vegas. I wouldn’t call this pet break romantic, but I wanted to include it here to show you our entire trip. You can find pet-friendly Airbnbs in Las Vegas. We found a great house near the strip and enjoyed the last day of our trip, giving our fur babies a refreshing bath (they’re pretty dirty after traveling through the Southwest) and taking them for a walk around Venice.
3 Traveling with dogs comes with many challenges. Despite the challenges and different planning, the bond we experienced and the journey we took together was worth it.

Bye bye! I’m Mei, a girl who loves to wander and wonder! I’m from Saigon, I’m in Los Angeles, but my location is now anywhere and everywhere. My favorite things are travel, photography, tea time, picnics, home decoration and event planning.
A travel and lifestyle blog inspired by beautiful places, colors and nature and the amazing people I’ve met on my travels. Summer is coming and we all are looking forward to it. I can melt, but I know our dogs are worse than me.
I think we as humans overheat our animals and think they can handle the heat when we can’t, and maybe they can, but as New Arizonans, our mother-pup adventures took the heat.
So we’re looking for water rides, water tours, water activities, you name it. We swam, ran and dived in as many waterfalls, lakes and ponds as we could. Here are some of our favorites to keep you and your pup safe.
