Best Dog Friendly Hotels East Coast – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down with my calendar and make the perfect travel plans for next year. It’s so cold and dark outside that it’s incredibly satisfying to curl up with your laptop and plan some adventure.

Although we’ve taken a break from our major international travels during the pandemic, we love the Seattle area and all of its wonderful (and dog-friendly!) cottages. After ten years in New York and Chicago, it’s been great to come back and rediscover old vacation favorites, as well as see all the new creative glampsites, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs popping up here. And best of all, I loved seeing how many took advantage of the dog-friendly options for your stay. I’m so glad we were able to bring Dave and Lizzie on our vacation.

Honestly, Coho stole my heart with those fire pits on the shore in front of the ocean. Although this lodge on the Oregon coast is a short drive from Seattle, the elegantly modern interior and breathtaking views of the Pacific make it worth the drive. My New Year’s resolution is to book my dream house stay in St. Edward as soon as possible – which should be easy since it’s only half an hour’s drive from the city. This historic seminary has been renovated into a luxurious and elegant retreat on 326 acres of trails on Lake Washington. We had a perfect weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 โ€” and blogged about it โ€” and the memories got me through the first few months of closure. These 570-square-foot designer units offer amenities like private balconies, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. Plus, they’re the perfect base camp for exploring Vashon Island’s beautiful beaches and hiking trails. I’ve been dreaming of owning one of these Insta-famous A-frames and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tie River Cabin Co. It offers three different stunning A-frame cabins in the heart of the Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and all three accept pets for a fee. Word to the wise โ€“ every amazing Insta post gets thousands of likes, so booking can be tricky. Pet information is listed below each cabin detail.

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday in Semiam in 2019 and I look forward to the opportunity to return to the beautiful landscapes and remote beaches that Lizzy loves to explore. Just steps from the Canadian border, this spacious resort is the perfect base camp for great Northern Washington hiking and breathtaking coastal views. Anacortes is one of my favorite city tours. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to this beautiful suburban town full of cute shops, delicious cafes, and water views. I love a holiday of sorts, and Winthrop’s Rolling Hats certainly delivers. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects as a modern alternative to camping. Go for a walk or just relax and enjoy those amazing mountain views. Their Hotels.com listing has a pet policy listed in the “Payments and Policies” section.

This luxury waterfront resort has been welcoming pups since 1913, and with a full list of Fido-friendly amenities, we can count on it. Don’t forget to rent a kayak, hike the trails, or enjoy the scenery. Read more about dog food here.

Okay, this isn’t technically available yet, but we signed up for notifications the day after these adorable RVs launched in Olympic National Park. They offer creature comforts beyond standard camping, while providing a neutral and sustainable way to get out into nature. I was immersed in the beautiful new waterfront suites at this historic Orcas Island resort, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself driving there with a book. If you follow us on Instagram, you know that we take a quick trip to Seabrook every chance we get. Located on Washington’s stunning Pacific coast, this picturesque beach town is everything I want for a vacation – nice shops and restaurants, tons of rental options, and a beautiful downtown with a sandy, clean beach. Puppies are welcome in many rentals.

With beautiful views of Lake Washington, Woodmark offers a wonderful getaway just a quick drive outside of downtown Seattle. Explore downtown Kirkland’s shops and restaurants, take a dip in the water, or relax at the spa. Book the Woof, Wag and Worry Less package for your toy with its own bowl, bed and special treats. If you haven’t heard of Tentr yet, you’re missing out. We have stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on our trip to Maine which we wrote about here) and each trip was wonderful. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on unique private properties like this beautiful orchard near Meade, Washington. Granted, Idaho is a short drive from Seattle, but we’ll drive any distance to stay at this beautiful sight. Plus, little touches like the on-site sauna and vintage coffee grinder melted my heart. Pets are allowed, but you may have to judge whether or not this is a fun vacation for you by weighing in at the stairwell entrance.
