There’s nothing better than watching your four-legged friends wagging their tails and rolling in the sand at the beach. That’s why there are three dog-friendly beaches in the area. Bombo Beach, Jones Beach and Weli Beach. All of these beaches have off-leash areas for your pup to run around freely. If your dog loves water, he’ll love splashing and swimming at the beach. Dogs are only allowed off-leash between sunrise and sunset and must be walked on a leash if entering these areas.

Bombo Beach – Bombo is a great beach where you can let your dog run on the shore. Dogs are only allowed in the middle of the beach, so be sure to take your dog there. If in doubt, follow the signs on the beach.

Werri Beach – Located off Pacific Avenue, Werri Beach Off-leash Area is perfectly located opposite the Surf Club, Bowling Club and Werri Beach Holiday Park. As with the off-leash area at Bombo Beach, dogs are only allowed in the middle of the beach, so follow the signs to make sure your dog is in the right area.
Jones Beach (south end) – Located between Cape Minnamura and the basalt columns of Cathedral Rocks. The off-leash area is located at the south end of Jones Beach. Please note that access is only possible via the beach access road.
Take your best friend to a lush grassy area where dogs can run free. Please follow the signs and be careful to keep your dog in its designated area at all times. Then don’t forget to pick it up.
Gerroa Blackhead Sanctuary – Accessible from Stafford Street or Headland Drive in Gerroa. Enjoy stunning views of Seven Mile Beach and the Pacific Ocean with your furry friend. This area is a 24-hour off-lead area, so you can enjoy it anytime.

Bombo Headland and Dog Agility Park – Best accessed from the parking lot at the north end of Bombo Beach, this agility park lets your four-legged friend move freely and practice his skills using Dog’s agility equipment. You will get a chance to test it.
Gerringong Headland – Located off Tasman Drive, just a short walk from Werri Beach rock pools and marina. Enjoy a large off-leash area with stunning ocean and beach views. The whale watching platform here is a great place to see humpback whales migrating south with their calves from May to November.
Karula Head Reserve – Accessed from Guingana Avenue, this headland is just a short walk from Kendal’s Beach. This area offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and unobstructed views of the lighthouse to the north.
Marsden Head – Located just a short walk south of Karula Head Reserve. Accessed via Tingara Crescent, the headland overlooks East Beach. In addition, a little blow hole is also available!

Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park – The beach! Pets are also welcome in New South Wales, outside of school holidays, to enjoy family outings in both motorized and non-motorized locations. This property is a water lover’s paradise, close to the river and the beach. Unfortunately, Seven Mile Beach is not a dog-friendly beach, but Black Head Sanctuary is just minutes away.
Surf Beach Holiday Park – Overlooking Main Beach, this holiday park is family-friendly and always has a fun atmosphere. Your dog is welcome in all parts of New South Wales with and without electricity, except during school holidays and long weekends. Unfortunately Surf Beach is not dog friendly, but Cape Kareura and Cape Marsden are within walking distance. Or take a walk around town and spend time at a dog-friendly cafe.
