One of my favorite things about Hipcamp is that it has a “pet friendly” filter that you can apply when searching for camping or glamping spots on the site or in the app. Finding pet-friendly camping just got a lot easier.
Is this the best place for treehouse glamping in Texas? The Hobbit’s Nest Treehouse near Bastrop, Texas is a true wilderness escape. As you’d expect, the property is full of Lord of the Rings theme and little touches that bring the Shire to life.
After all, it’s one of the most dog-friendly places we’ve ever found. In fact, the owners live nearby and have two dogs that roam the property and may come to the treehouse to say hello.
There is no wifi, but there is a grill, toilet, shower and small fridge, so we recommend that you cook on site and really plug in. In addition, the sounds of nature are best heard here, especially the “frog chorus” that can be heard from the beautiful daylilies overlooking the treehouse.

This trendy glamping resort is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, on the outskirts of Dripping Springs. Options at Lucky Arrow Retreat (Hipcamp $10 discount for new users) include yurts, lodges and log cabins, depending on the size of your group and the type of experience you’re looking for. If you really want to see, the picture below is perfect.
Each room can accommodate up to 2 people and has access to a nearby shared bath. For something a little more hotel-like, there are Courtyard Cottages, Breezeway Cabins and Porch Houses, each sleeping up to four people and having a private bathroom.
